Reading Challenge: Around the World in 80 Books

The Around the World in 80 Books Reading Challenge was hosted by Sarah and Lucy over at Hard Book Habit.  Sadly they don’t seem to be blogging anymore but I wanted to carry on with their fun challenge.

The challenge asked us to read at least one book connected to each continent, one sea-based book, and a book that involves travel.

Although it wasn’t part of the challenge, I decided to have each book written by someone from that country (plus Antarctica!)

Below is a list of places visited, with links to the individual posts.

Now my challenge has finished, but there are still so many places left to explore! If you fancy some travels from within the pages of a book…

Lonely Planet Armchair Explorer has plenty of suggestions.

Wonderful website Bookmarked Places links books to destinations; it “aims to offer inspiration by featuring novels that have won major literary awards, become literary bestsellers, or are widely regarded as significant works of fiction.”

Happy travels!
